Public bug reported: 11.2 r202 of the Adobe Flash plugin from Canonical Partners does not load correctly on 10.04 and above and gives a "missing plugin" error in Chromium and in Firefox. If a user installs Google Chrome and uses the built in plugin, the Flash plays as it should.
I also tested creating a symlink to the libgcflashplayer.so file so Firefox and Chromium can use it, and it played without issues. Even renaming libgcflashplayer.so to libflashplayer.so and placing in the /usr/lib/adobe-flashplugin/ had Flash movies playing as they should. This could be an issue with the version supplied by the Canonical Partners repository because the exact same version supplied by Google Chrome works without "missing plugin" errors. ** Affects: adobe-flashplugin (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: chromium firefox flash plugin -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/968832 Title: 11.2 gives a missing plugin error but built in Chrome plugin fine To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/adobe-flashplugin/+bug/968832/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
