This seems like a really bad idea.  Guillem made it clear on debian-
devel that the multiarch implementation in Debian's new dpkg is
different than what Ubuntu did.  At this stage of the LTS, it seems
prudent to only cherry pick fixes and then switch early in Q to the new
implementation.
