Virtualbox uses its own video driver in the guest additions that are
responsible for exposing other resolutions, it could just be vesa is
being used here because guest additions aren't installed (only vesa
modes are being exposed) but that would be working as intended if so.
This is a problem in virtualbox so reassigning there
