Public bug reported:

Hi,

I want to report an annoying suspend entry freeze problem discovered with ASUS
A8N-LA mainboard.
Please note that this mainboard was manufactured by ASUS specifically for
HP/Compaq.
This mainboard's information is not available on ASUS website.
HP has some technical information about the mainboard on their website.

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?lc=en&cc=us&docname=c00647121&dlc=en

The strange thing is, if I use PS/2 keyboard and mouse, the computer will enter
suspend properly, and comes out of suspend perfectly fine.
However, if USB keyboard and mouse are connected at boot time, the computer
will freeze entering suspend. (Power LED will stay on and the computer freezes.
Power LED will not blink as in ACPI S1 or S3 state.)
Note that suspend I am talking about is also known as ACPI S3 state or Suspend
to RAM (STR).

Procedure:

1) Attach USB keyboard and mouse
2) Install Ubuntu 10.04.4 LTS 32-bit
3) Install NVIDIA binary display device driver
4) Reboot the computer to load NVIDIA binary display device driver
5) Enter Suspend
6) The computer will freeze and it will not enter ACPI S3 state because power
LED will not blink

Please note that, if I use PS/2 keyboard and mouse, power LED will blink in
ACPI S3 state.
I have not tested this mainboard with ACPI S1 state.
If Canonical developers need more information, please feel free to contact me.
I really want this bug fixed.

Regards,
