Public bug reported: Ubuntu 12.04 LTS Beta 2 with Gnome Shell
Typing 'alt+f2', then typing 'r' should restart the deskop without the need to log out. At the moment after using the command the desktop wallpaper is broken, with a smaller version of the current wallpaper being tiled on top. Restarting the computer fixes the issue, though you normally see the broken wallpaper briefly when you log back in before it returns to normal. Will attach image.
