I have exactly the same problem with ".bin" suffixes:
When I download an mail attachment from free mail service mail.seznam.cz,
and saved it on ext3, everything goes ok, but if I saved it on ntfs-3g volume,
it gets additional suffix ".bin", so file.doc became file.doc.bin and file.pdf
became
file.pdf.bin ...it maybe dependent on mime type got from server because I
didn't notice this problem when downloading .doc and .pdf files from other
sites.
