I'm impressed with a response and encouraged with the exception of my,
likely, inability to understand all the suggested fixes and how they are
to be applied. My "ace-in-the-hole" is that I teach non-technical
subjects at a computer-based technical college and have a classroom full
of students that just love challenges and would be glad to help the
instructor.

I'll keep any errors coming and look forward to the "bonding" with my
students and their admiration to my embracing open-source.

Subject: [Bug 976660] Re: [i965gm] GPU lockup render.IPEHR: 0x81323232

Hi Gifford, upstream thinks this may be fixed already in the mainline
kernel, by commit c501ae7f332cdaf42e31af30b72b4b66cbbb1604 which is
included in v3.4-rc1.

Deb packages of the mainline kernels are available at
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/.

I would suggest waiting until the freeze occurs one or two more times,
so you get a feel for how frequently it occurs, and if there are any
things that seem to trigger it.

Then, install v3.4-rc1-precise (or newer), and try to do those same
things (or wait the appropriate period of time), and see if the freeze
occurs again.

In either case, report back here with your findings.
