Public bug reported: In Ubuntu 12.04 (exim4-base 4.76-3ubuntu3) is /var/lib/exim4 required by exim4-base.postinst when handling berkeleydbvers.txt, but this directory is provided by exim4-config. This causes problems when creating new custom package, which replaces exim4-config AND provides configuration files AND depends on exim4-daemon-*.
I'm not sure if this should be considered as a bug, because it's probably possible to solve it with additional apt setup. But this additional setup is imho unnecessary complication when you have to do it on many machines. And in previous versions of Ubuntu there were no problems with it. In the attached file you can see the "main idea" - of course this directory should be created a different way. ** Affects: exim4 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: exim4-base postinst -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980151 Title: /var/lib/exim4 should be created by exim4-base To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/exim4/+bug/980151/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
