Public bug reported:

I have just installed ubuntu 12.04 and when I downloaded
'google-earth-stable_current_amd64.deb' via the Ubuntu Software Centre I got
the following error report:-
Cannot install 'ia32-libs'

When I attempted to install ia32-libs via the command line, I got the
following error message:-

Some packages could not be installed. This may mean that you have
requested an impossible situation or if you are using the unstable
distribution that some required packages have not yet been created
or been moved out of Incoming.
The following information may help to resolve the situation:

The following packages have unmet dependencies.
 ia32-libs : Depends: ia32-libs-multiarch
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packages.

It looks as if there may be a problem with the multiarch software.
