I've moved a part of this to bug #981212.

** Summary changed:

- battery menu malfunction
+ battery menu disappear malfunction

** Description changed:

- 1) When laptop is powered by AC adapter (with battery attached too), battery
menu wrongly indicates "Battery (not present)";
- when battery is discharging (or charging), it shows time left to full
discharge (full charge), which is correct.
- 2) If you uncheck the "Show Time in Menu Bar" menu item, battery icon and
menu unexpectedly disappear; if you re-login, battery menu re-appears, so you
can re-select "Show Time in Menu Bar" item.
-
+ If you uncheck the "Show Time in Menu Bar" menu item (if it was checked
before that), battery icon and menu unexpectedly disappear; if you re-login,
battery menu re-appears, so you can re-select "Show Time in Menu Bar" item.
