Public bug reported: Upon installing Ubuntu 11.10 the default alert volume is set to zero. Before realizing this I was trying to figure out why I cannot hear any notification sound in Skype and that was the reason. The alert volume should be set to a sensible default that is larger than zero.
(I'm not completely sure whether it's a problem of the pulseaudio package but that's my best guess.) ** Affects: pulseaudio (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/982803 Title: Alert volume is set to zero by default To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/982803/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
