** Summary changed:

- system hangs on establishing l2tp IPSEC connection (with aesni-intel module
loaded)
+ general protection fault: 0000 [#1] SMP; EIP is at aesni_cbc_dec+0x5c/0xbc
[aesni_intel]

** Tags added: kernel-bug

** Description changed:

I configured xl2tp and OpenSwan to connect to my VPN server, but instead
of connecting my system hangs. Unfortunately nothing is written to
kern.log, but I figured that problem is with aesni-intel module. When I
removed module manually my IPSEC connection is established without any
  problems. My processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i5 CPU M 520 @
  2.40GHz.
+
+ I've tested latest upstream kernel (linux-image-3.4.0-030400rc2-generic-
+ pae_3.4.0-030400rc2.201204072235_i386.deb) and after establishing IPSEC
+ connection I've expirienced Kernel Panic.
