Public bug reported:

When "DISTRIB_DESCRIPTION="Ubuntu 12.04 LTS"' shows the login screen,
I hear the familiar "ka bonk". From then on, the laptop has no sound.
The "Sound" dialog "Play sound through" only shows "Digital
Output(S/PDIF)" not analog. This Dell Inspirion E1505 laptop is dual
boot with Ubuntu 10.04. Under 10.04 the laptop sound works OK. I've
been through the "fix your own sound problems".

** Affects: ubuntu
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
