Ubuntu Edgy kernel 2.6.17-11-generic

I'm pretty much having the same problem. At first I thought modprobe -r 
ehci_hcd solved the issue (of course with lower speed).
But after plugging my Seagate FreeAgent 320GB in and trying to transfer a 
dvd-image I get the following error.
Does anyone have an idea on when this issue will be solved?
