I also experience this problem, The last 2 times I've had it were - watching a video in chrome (youtube) - coming back after leaving the computer idle, I type my password and saw my desktop for about 2 seconds and then it logged me off.
I don't know if it's relevant to the developers but I actually also get the little logoff sound.
