I think I'm affected by a similar bug. Also bugs #975848 and #986600 are probable duplicates. Bug #914557 could also be a duplicate but it's quite older and the computer affected is using a nvidia graphic driver instead of an intel one.
A few remarks from my side. When this happens, I can still move the cursor (which changes shape depending on what type of widget is under it), and change to a console (Ctrl + Alt + F1). If I kill compiz ("killall -KILL compiz" twice in the console), and restart it ("compiz -replace -display :0"), I get the screen back. However, I'm probably restarting compiz incorectly, and I miss a window- manager (but at least I can see everything and quit each application). -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/966744 Title: resume from suspend leaves me with black screen and a cursor To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/unity/+bug/966744/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
