I have a similar issue. While typing in the TO field, evolution just locks up completely. I'm using Exchange, looking up agianst the global address book. This happens about every other day.
Other behaviors that might be related: While typing in the TO field: (1) Lookups stop, I can still type, but nothing gets resolved. I type more and then get a match. (2) Lookups are very slow (3) I'll get a match, but if I'm still typing, the match goes away (like #1) (4) Input freezes, nothing new appears on the screen for a bit. After a long pause, it's okay again.
