I am trying to get a life (I am getting older and I don't want to switch distros like a mad man just because they're buggier than all the other operating systems), and I am pissed off by the inability of the (K)Ubuntu team to understand what QA is -- because only Mandriva is buggier than (K)Ubuntu!
> I don't even have hardware affected by this. I do have. Having https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/util-linux/+bug/66637, i.e. the swap's UUID permanently changing, I *had* to add the swap in fstab as /dev/sdb3, then as /dev/hdb3, then as /dev/sdb3, then as /dev/hdb3, etc. Then, my CD-RW permanently changes from /dev/hdd to /dev/sdb, then back to /dev/hdd, then again /dev/sdb, etc. HOW IS IT SO HARD TO UNDERSTAND THAT DURING THE LIFETIME OF A POINT RELEASE (7.04), THE F--ING DEVICE NAMES SHOULD NOT F--ING CHANGE TWICE A WEEK, DEPENDING ON THE LATEST KERNEL UPDATE? > If you really want to keep the old naming scheme you can > always create udev rules to do the renaming for you... If Ubuntu and Fedora have adopted buggy kernels, it is their decision, and they have to assume it, not to switch back and forth all the time! No, this is not project management.
