nohu_: Your machine is going to be significantly different, and more than likely the problem is fundamentally different. You should file a separate bug.
Here's a possible solution though: if your machine has nvidia graphics and you're using the binary-only nvidia driver, try using the nouveau driver instead. I seem to recall that some of the nvidia-based MacBooks only support changing brightness via the GPU and that the proprietary nvidia driver doesn't export brightness control. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/988202 Title: Ubuntu cannot automatically change brightness of screen and keyboard backlight in Macbook Air 4,2 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/988202/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
