Same problem here (12.04 x64). Keyboard is dead in Unity. When swapping
to vga terminal and back again, it works for a little while more.

Lots of these when using fn key combos (volume, wifi killswitch etc).
[15700.198674] atkbd serio0: Use 'setkeycodes e061 <keycode>' to make it known.
[15700.518087] atkbd serio0: Unknown key released (translated set 2, code 0xe1
on isa0060/serio0).

For me, it is always complaining about keycode e061 no matter which fn
combo I'm trying.

My hardware details:
Handle 0x0001, DMI type 1, 27 bytes
System Information
        Manufacturer: ASUSTeK Computer Inc.
        Product Name: K70AF
        Version: 1.0

        Wake-up Type: Power Switch

It seems to happen randomly after I wake the computer up from suspend.

I will do some more investigations on this one...
