Due to many posts around the net, the issue can be fixed by installing
the newest Realtek driver from their site. I'm not familiar with the
Linux Kernel but is it possible just to add the new drivers to the
Kernel to make it available out of the box?

These are the sites im referring too:

http://forums.linuxmint.com/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=80757

Didn't test it myself cause i have'nt installed Ubuntu yet because of
this network issue, but i'll give it a try in the livesystem (if this is
possible)
