They worked fine in Windows before I installed Ubuntu over the default Windows install. I don't have it dual boot so I'm unable to confirm this now. They have never worked on any version of Ubuntu, going back to 8.04. I suspect a broken set of ACPI tables that don't work on Linux, not a surprise as Samsung don't support Linux on any of their machines.
