Public bug reported: I have been experiencing random system freezes since I switched to XUbuntu 12.04. Those were not happening when using Fedora 16 with XFCE.
My interface will become non-responsive. The mouse pointer will not move and no keyboard input will be received. And I can't use Ctrl-Alt-F1 (or 2 or...) to get a shell to try to fix the problem. The only solution is a hard restart. It is happening both after a hibernation resume without hibernation. I tried the DPMS settings as mentioned here, but it still froze. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/X/Troubleshooting/Freeze As I didn't install SSHD before, I wasn't able to test if the problem was only with the X server or it is a kernel panic or something else. I also had this happening with Unity, so the problem is not XFCE- specific. ** Affects: linux (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: kernel-bug precise resume -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/993941 Title: [drm:drm_mode_getfb] *ERROR* invalid framebuffer id - fail resume from hybernate To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/993941/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
