to add-the kernel update which i did fixed the bug i was experiencing. However it added a couple of inconveniences.
1- windows no longer resize (when you drag a window to the side it does not resize to half the screen) 2- i cannot drag open windows into other workspaces 3-it seems that all visual effects are off-no eye candy at all 4-i seem to have lost my graphics drivers and they no longer install (fail to install with message ; "driver failed to install please look throught the log at /var/log/jockey.log " i am now retrying the install of drivers -it downloads fine and i have an internet connection. Can it be that ubuntu defaulted to unity 2d because it cant get the gpu to work(which takes care of 1,2,3 nicely). I am attaching the log to this comment.
