Thanks for the bug report, but I don't think we can do much about this from Onboard's side. It's probably best if you check and upgrade your launchers. Here's a quote from Bug #987343:
"The second issue is probably due to gksu in one of your launchers. IIRC, gksu has been deprecated in ubuntu in favor of pkexec. I'd recommend that you update the desktop file you are attempting to launch and replace gksu with pkexec. The alternative is to turn off the black screen with $ gconftool-2 -s /apps/gksu/disable-grab -t bool true This was a rather common thing to do back in the time, but I can't recommend it, as this opens up a security hole." Marking invalid, as we can't fix this. Don't stop reporting bugs, though. ** Changed in: onboard (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994542 Title: Onboard doesn't activate when asking root's password To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/onboard/+bug/994542/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
