The problem seems to depend on what kernel i am using. I installed Kernel 3.3.4
 yesterday evening from here:
http://kernel.ubuntu.com/~kernel-ppa/mainline/v3.3.4-precise/

And no more freezes since then. I was trying hard today to make my
system freeze having many applications open including OpenGL, flash-
videos, multiple pdf's at a time und office applications. I really
haven't been able to make anything freeze.

uname -r
3.3.4-030304-generic-pae

uptime | cut -d, -f1
15:38:37 up 19:39

I'll report back if i happen to have a freeze again the next couple
days.
