Hello, Have many thanks for all your energies going into it. The patches are listed in http://anonscm.debian.org/gitweb/?p=pkg-boinc/boinc.git;a=blob;f=debian/patches/series and of those my personal hunch is the have a second look at the app_ipc_uninitialised.patch, where I had improved (so I thought) initialisations of variables. Had you tried that one, yet? I have changed the order of lines in the init file ... not thinking that this makes much of difference .. but I may be wrong.
If you have located the issue - fine. If not I suggest to leave it.
