The "Network" button still exists, it's been exported to the Global
Menu. So it's not necessary to uninstall appmenu to work around this,
you can also use the Network menubutton in the Global Menu.

Since wicd-gtk doesn't appear to use menus at all except for here in the
toolbar, probably the quickest fix for this would be to add wicd-gtk to
appmenu-gtk's list of apps to not 'globalize'. That should result in the
behavior that everyone in this ticket is expecting.
