The "Network" button still exists, it's been exported to the Global Menu. So it's not necessary to uninstall appmenu to work around this, you can also use the Network menubutton in the Global Menu.
Since wicd-gtk doesn't appear to use menus at all except for here in the toolbar, probably the quickest fix for this would be to add wicd-gtk to appmenu-gtk's list of apps to not 'globalize'. That should result in the behavior that everyone in this ticket is expecting. ** Also affects: appmenu-gtk Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: appmenu-gtk (Ubuntu) Status: New => Triaged ** Changed in: appmenu-gtk Status: New => In Progress ** Changed in: appmenu-gtk Importance: Undecided => Medium ** Changed in: appmenu-gtk Assignee: (unassigned) => Charles Kerr (charlesk) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/788640 Title: Missing "Network Button" for wifi inputs To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/appmenu-gtk/+bug/788640/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
