Hi Deepak. did you make sure you used the Gnome solution at point 3 and not the Cinnamon version? Because Alt+F2 is for Cinnamon, for Gnome it's just F2 then enter r and hit Return. If a crash happens the shell should restart itself. Sometimes it doesn't (what seems like what you described).
You can also try installing the newest Gnome-shell via ppa: ppa:gnome3-team/gnome3 You system may be more unstable this way but I did it and nothing changed for me. (There will be a lot more updates with this ppa.)
