I get complete freezes running Ubuntu 12.04 64 bit on an Intel Ivy
Bridge machine with integrated graphics.

For me, one way to induce a freeze is to randomly drag the map in Google
Maps, both in Firefox and Chromium. The freeze will occur within a few
seconds of dragging. This happens in Unity 3D as well as Gnome Shell,
Unity 2D seems to be stable. I suppose this is a 3D-only issue.

When running Unity 3D from a live USB stick I can not reproduce any
complete freezes with the map-dragging method, but Firefox freezes for a
short time every few seconds. Sometimes the window turns dark. However,
the mouse is movable the whole time.

When I make a fresh install as suggested by Hein (#51) the freezes are
back, which is why I assume that the problem is not introduced by an
update.

Many of you seem to use mobile or integrated graphics. Might this be a
problem with shared memory?
