Hi, Thanks for your bug report.
I think what you're experiencing isn't related to xfce4-indicator-plugin: when you remove it from the panel, there's no "indicator renderer" running anymore, and programs that support both indicator and systray (= "notification area") can detect that, and show an icon in the systray. Network-manager-applet does that, but indicator-messages and indicator-sound are "pure" indicators and don't fallback to the systray, so they disappear, until you add back xfce4-indicator-plugin to the panel... ** Changed in: xfce4-indicator-plugin (Ubuntu) Status: New => Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/998233 Title: xfce4-indicator-plugin fails to restart the sound indicator To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/xfce4-indicator-plugin/+bug/998233/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
