I have this problem too. I can play DVDs, CDs, stream podcasts and record TV from Kaffeine and play back through VLC all with sound. But there is no sound when I play any TV channel.
I have the latest Kaffeine 1.2.2 and I'm on Ubuntu 10.04. I have no problem with sound in any other app. My media card is a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR4000 DVB S/S and I'm using it for Terrestrial channels I've tried extending the buffers and that hasn't helped at all. It's as though the output is directed to some random port - but I have been unable to verify that if that is the problem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/894579 Title: No sound in kaffeine on hdtv channel To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/kaffeine/+bug/894579/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
