I have this problem too. I can play DVDs, CDs, stream podcasts and
record TV from Kaffeine and play back through VLC all with sound. But
there is no sound when I play any TV channel.

I have the latest Kaffeine 1.2.2 and I'm on Ubuntu 10.04.

I have no problem with sound in any other app.

My media card is a Hauppauge WinTV-HVR4000 DVB S/S and I'm using it for
Terrestrial channels

I've tried extending the buffers and that hasn't helped at all. It's as
though the output is directed to some random port - but I have been
unable to verify that if that is the problem.
