Hello Brian Problem resolved: I've tested and confirmed that one of the two memory cards on the PC is faulty. Hence the problems when memory use was more intensive, e.g. booting, using Gimp or Firefox! New set of memory cards is due to arrive tomorrow - PC is currently running with just one memory card (1 GiB) and exhibits none of the previous faults. Sorry to have added unnecessarily to your burden. -- Tony Wood (from PC) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994640 Title: Crashed during installation from a disk.
