Public bug reported: After updating python-desktopcouch-records (1.0.8-0ubuntu1 -> 1.0.8-0ubuntu1.1), python-desktopcouch-application (1.0.8-0ubuntu1 -> 1.0.8-0ubuntu1.1), and desktopcouch (1.0.8-0ubuntu1 -> 1.0.8-0ubuntu1.1) I'm getting frequent and sudden logouts and crashes.
I'm using Ubuntu 11.10 with Gnome Shell. (Another user has reported what may be the same problem using 12.04. See forum link below.) About 15-25 minutes after booting (or updating the packages listed above) my machine will suddenly dump me back on my login screen (lightdm), or the display will lock up with the cursor still moving, but unresponsive to clicks and keyboard (including ctrl-alt-f1). The logouts and crashes occur while I'm actively using the computer. I rolled-back the update on those three packages and rebooted. After two hours of uptime without issue I re-updated the packages and within 10 minutes was dumped back to the login screen. I once again downgraded them and have been stable since. Note that after downgrading a reboot is required. Here is a discussion of the issue where I'm posting as redsparrow: http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?p=11958641#post11958641 Please let me know what other information I can provide to aid in debugging this issue. ** Affects: desktopcouch (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1003028 Title: Frequent and sudden logouts after desktopcouch update To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/desktopcouch/+bug/1003028/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
