I have tried this: http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=10800028&postcount=11 which required installing grub 2 (grub-pc in synaptic in the 10.04 LTS repos) first.
That method did *NOT* fix this issue. Apparently that method is for a different issue. (And I have since reverted the changes made to my machine when testing that, and I'm back to the older grub to, because that was the default in 10.04 LTS.) --- This looks like it could well be a kernel issue, and from the original poster's report it seems to still be an unfixed problem in the most recent 3.x kernels, however it also seems that it used to work in kernels 2.6.20.x and earlier, so this issue looks like a long-standing regression. Another thing that may be worth trying (but that I haven't tried yet) is plugging in a spare hard disk and completely installing Ubuntu 7.04 on that to confirm beyond the limited LiveCD test that suspend really used to work on the ASUS P5N-E SLI back then. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980083 Title: Suspend Fails on P5N-E SLI To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/980083/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
