didn't like that and decided to change it."  You are incorrect, it does
indeed operate as described.

I would assume that clicking the "Close" button on any app would "Close"
the application, not keep going.

As in the OP's statement, not only does the app keep playing music, but
there is no "Tray" icon (at least not in Unity). One has to go to the
Dash, find the program and start it again...then click "pause" then
"close"...though I am not sure that actually "closes" the app (ie.
removing the app from RAM).
