Strangely today, with just the amd site base radeon driver install directly to xorg(which was working) the same problems happened, and yet again, recovery failsafe x refused to start saying 'no screens found', just the initial configuration which the recovery mode do plus terminal 'reboot' worked to fix that(temporary fix maybe?) , currently I do not know if the issue will too start to happen with the base amd radeon driver install from AMD site, hopefully not, as it is the last option for a fully working radeon video card on ubuntu 12.04.
As I said before, at the next month I will test this again but with the ubuntu driver package(which has the same issue above, so expect the same results), I will do the test with the ubuntu package without updating the system, as it is important to get this working already with a clean install, do you agree? Also, verify if there is already an identifiable issue at the apport provided above. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1004546 Title: Black screen at login after any ubuntu AMD radeon driver install To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/fglrx-installer/+bug/1004546/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
