Hi,

Even if the symptoms are not the sames, I have tried both changes (each ones or
the two together) described with the following links:
1. https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pulseaudio/+bug/946232 by
following D Henningsson's instructions (Comment #32)
2. http://www.webupd8.org/2010/11/fix-hda-intel-realtek-alc887-no-sound.html

and it did not solve the issue.

I have also run the follwoing verison from LTS Ubuntu CD, and the soudns was
with both working:
- Ubuntu LTS 12.04 from the CD (try Option), Sound was working!
- Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS from the CD (try Option), Sound was Working!

So I guess something went wrong with a Ubuntu package Update right after
installing the Ubuntu 12.04 (I have checked the option by installation
in order to get the last package version online).

Best regards,

David
