I clean reinstalled precise(on imac it also requires EFI grub and rEFInd), updated, and then proceeded to install 3.5 quantal as requested and later 3.4 precise. I got strange results.
3.5 Quantal > Could boot normaly, but by changing several times bluetooth devices(attempt to get my apple keyboard and mouse recognized) led to "messed graphics"(restored by rebooting, but happened again doing what was said); I tried installing the video card driver later, as I suspect it has something to do with 3.4+ issues, the 'post-update' AMD driver did not even installed properly(said I should check jockey.log for errors), neither 'the non post updates' video drivers(jockey.log again, probably because the previous driver was installed with errors). By entering recovery mode I was able to see which the AMD drivers were indeed installed by jockey, but were not working; purging them allowed me to enter at the precise current kernel(3.2.0-24-generic) and type this report with working apport. Note which the pre splash screen text freezed with a different message this time, which didn't even looked like an error; but the great delay(compared to when ubuntu works) at that text line makes me think it freezed there again. 3.4 precise > Do not seemed to work(freezed at splash screen I think, no text before), but the results may be somehow influentiated by the video card troubles above, even with them purged from before. I think the test could be better if after my clean install I had first tested 3.4 without AMD video card drivers before doing the same on 3.5; since 3.5 is the most recent one I guess I did right to test AMD proprietary drivers first on it, should I do a clean precise install and now check if 3.4 works after a clean install and test AMD video drivers on it first?
