Hi,
  The issue was reported to Canonical IS and is believed to have been fixed
about 6 hours ago. You've opened this bug 35 minutes ago.
  Are you still having this issue? I've just tried to reproduce and have not
been able to.

  I've tried the following to reproduce on precise instance in us-east-1:
  - sudo apt-get clean && sudo apt-get update
  - sudo apt-get clean && sudo apt-get update && sudo apt-get install git-core
--assume-yes

  Additionally, I've tried running
https://code.launchpad.net/~smoser/+junk/check-archive/ (which checks all the
relevant index files) for each round robin mirror.
  - ./check-archive precise precise-updates precise-proposed
http://us-east-1.ec2.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu  -v
