I also have Nvidia drivers, using an Intel i7 machine. Honestly speaking, I see the potential in Ubuntu as a credible alternative to Windows and would love to have dedicated Ubuntu machine because the user experience is far better than with Windows. With virtualbox, I can have access to Windows applications, however this is the only bug that is stopping me from being a full convert to Linux / Ubuntu. For me, I get logged out for no reason whatsoever. There does not seem to be any observable pattern for this bug. The only constant variable is that it happens when I'm 'doing stuff' --> Doing stuff means surfing the web, doing work, etc .... It usually happens while surfing the web, as that is what I usually do with Ubuntu. And one thing I observe, when I leave the PC on so that a download can finish overnight, then it does not log out automatically. Therefore the only constant variable about this bug is that it only happens when the machine is idle, but when you are actively doing stuff with the PC, it happens. There therefore appears to be no way to predict when the problem will occur. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/980519 Title: Random log off in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/unity/+bug/980519/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
