It appears that they can both be installed if they are installed in the
opposite order.

1) Install google-earth (may not be required, but I already had it)
2) Install wine (it will remove google-earth)
3) Re-install google-earth

Interrestingly enough, step 3 did NOT remove wine! I now have both
installed, but I still feel there is a bug here somewhere's because it
shouldn't matter in which what order they are installed.
