I've had to remove the corebreach entries in /etc/apt/auth.conf for the fix to take effect, but all is well now. The reason might be that in my case I managed to install the application, but after a couple of days update-manager stopped being able to access the PPA. So I had an old entry for corebreach in /etc/apt/auth.conf which seems to have been conflicting with the new entry.
