I was able to workaround the issue by adding "Multi-Arch: same" to the
amd64 package entries of libsdl-net and libsdl-mixer in the
/var/lib/dpkg/status file.

I was then able to install the new dpkg and proceed normally.  You might
want to try the same for libcanberra-gtk-module,
