Might be worthwile to have a look at the special powersave features of recent Logitech mice. They are advertised as getting 3 years life out of a set of batteries. So maybe there are mechanisms to turn the mouse or the receiver so completely off when in powersave, tat it is no more recognized by the system on loadding the module. At least not without some special "wake up call", some special USB sequence required to activate the port/receiver/mouse.
This is just my fairy-tale view on the issue, unfortunately I am too dumb to be able to help debug this. I'm using a Logitech M515 on a recent Kubuntu Oneiric -> Precise Upgrade, and same on another Kubuntu Precise fresh install with an Anywhere MX. Both worked fine under Oneiric before. BTW, both mice use one of these new Logitech Unity receivers (not to be confused with the Ubuntu Window Manager). It is used to connect several devices to one PC using the same dongle. Maybe that's related, too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/958174 Title: Wireless Mouse not registered on Startup or Reboot To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+bug/958174/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
