Public bug reported:

(I don't speak computer techno-speak, so please explain as you would to
your grandmother. Thanks!)

This message pops up whenever I try to run Update Manager:

An unresolvable problem occurred while initializing the package
information.

Please report this bug against the 'update-manager' package and include
the following error message:

'E:Dynamic MMap ran out of room. Please increase the size of APT::Cache-
Limit. Current value: 25165824. (man 5 apt.conf), E:Error occurred while
processing linux-image-2.6.32-36-virtual (NewVersion1), E:Problem with
MergeList /var/lib/apt/lists/archive.ubuntu.com_ubuntu_dists_lucid-
updates_main_binary-i386_Packages, E:The package lists or status file
could not be parsed or opened.'

I am using Ubuntu 10.04 LTS-- Lucid Lynx. I have tried to upgrade to
10.10, but haven't gotten anywhere. Do I need to upgrade or should I
stick with 10.4?

** Affects: ubuntu
