I'm migrating here from bug 1014744, I'll recap that one briefly. The affected system is very similar (Lenovo SL510), so potentially the same innards, just a bigger frame to accomodate the 15-inch screen.
The behavior I see was originally reported as a failing Mute button, but upon closer inspection it's exactly as described by Jeff; mute works if a volume button is pressed after pressing mute (mute works like a "modifier" key). The microphone mute button remains completely unresponsive, however. I've confirmed this behavior on Oneiric (kernel 3.0.0-12.20), Precise (kernel 3.2) and latest mainline kernel (3.5-rc3 at the moment). Since I tested mainline kernel I'll set this back to Confirmed. ** Changed in: linux (Ubuntu) Status: Incomplete => Confirmed -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/994274 Title: [Lenovo SL410] Mute button requires you to hit a volume button To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/994274/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
