Public bug reported: As MPD may be used in an environment shared by multiple people, it makes sense for clients to allow "favourites" to be read from/written to a specific playlist.
While it is possible in GMPC to assign the currently playing song to a specific playlist by right-clicking the star icon, left-clicking the star icon always modifies the playlist named "Favorites" and the star is only "illuminated" for the next playing song if that song appears in the global "Favorites" playlist. This behaviour results in GMPC's "Favorites" functionality being unusable in a shared environment, as multiple GMPC users corrupt each other's favourites. For my GMPC installation I would prefer to nominate, e.g., "Alex's Favourites" to be the playlist on which the star icon operates. Other GMPC users connecting to the same MPD instance would also nominate their own "starred" playlist. This would prevent the scenario described above.
