maybe it is another module. after 3 days without any freeze with "modprobe.blacklist=cx88xx" I was again not able to boot my system today. I wish there were debugging options in upstart: 1) more debug output on screen and 2) an option to serialize the start of all services, so that I have a chance to know which service is responsible for my problems
