Hi Kamal/All I've just installed 12.04 on my XPS13 and I'm also having troubles with the Cypress Trackpad drivers. I'm unable to see the trackpad tab under mouse settings, and thus can't get double finger scrolling or other multitouch gestures to work.
I don't believe I"m having the same issue as the folks with the 32-bit install, as I used the project sputnik iso to get going. Uname -i also seems to confirm this brian@brian-Dell-System-XPS-L321X:~$ uname -i x86_64 I believe the issue is the with the touchpad not being recognized as the new "CyPS/2 Cypress Trackpad" although I'm not too sure why. Looks like I have the newest kernel, but no luck with the trackpad. Any ideas? brian@brian-Dell-System-XPS-L321X:~$ uname -a Linux brian-Dell-System-XPS-L321X 3.2.0-26-generic #41+kamal3~DellXPS-Ubuntu SMP Mon Jun 25 21:26:05 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux brian@brian-Dell-System-XPS-L321X:~$ xinput ⎡ Virtual core pointer id=2 [master pointer (3)] ⎜ ↳ Virtual core XTEST pointer id=4 [slave pointer (2)] ⎜ ↳ PS/2 Cypress Trackpad id=12 [slave pointer (2)] ⎣ Virtual core keyboard id=3 [master keyboard (2)] ↳ Virtual core XTEST keyboard id=5 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=6 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Video Bus id=7 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Power Button id=8 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Sleep Button id=9 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Laptop_Integrated_Webcam_1.3M id=10 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ Dell WMI hotkeys id=13 [slave keyboard (3)] ↳ AT Translated Set 2 keyboard id=11 [slave keyboard (3)] -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/978807 Title: 'Cypress Trackpad' incorrectly detected as 'ImPS/2 Generic Wheel Mouse' in 'Dell XPS 13 Ultrabook'' To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/linux/+bug/978807/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
